GENUS/SPECIES - Urastella asperula

This wonderful specimen looks almost like a ghost of a sea star. The edges of this sea star are composed of large plates, while the middle of the arms are composed of smaller and thinner plates. When fossilized, the small plates are more rarely preserved than are the large outer plates. It's difficult to tell from this specimen, but you are seeing the top of the animal.
