Extra credit: This is worth the equivalent of 2 multiple

On the internet there is a site that will allow you to see where earthquakes and volcanic eruptions have occurred anywhere on Earth. Are Earthquakes and eruptions spread evenly across the land? In what way are they related to plate tectonics?
You can change the map size and type, and control which earthquakes and eruptions get plotted.
First go to http://www.tulane.edu/~sanelson/geol111/pltect.htm. This contains a graphic of the plate boundaries.
Go to http://atlas.geo.cornell.edu/education/quest/. You will need fairly up-to-date web browsing software to use this.
Spend at least 5 minutes playing with the software. Do whatever comes to mind – play with the software. You can spend more than 5 minutes, but do so only if you really want to.
Then click this link, but not until your 5 minutes is finished: questions
