The stream bed

Let's explore the stream bed above the waterfall. You may notice many small white fossils exposed in the streamed around the hammer in the photo on the left. Specimens of these fossils which were collected from the streamed are shown in the photo on the right. What are they?

We can compare these fossils to the remains of living animals.
