As you can tell from the sketches above, the specimen from Kashong Glen is just one part of the entire crinoid skeleton.

This part is called the crown or calyx. It is the large, bulb-like object above the stem.

The stem or stem segments are also commonly found. The stem is made up of hundreds of thin plates. A stem looks like smooth or ribbed cable when together. When scattered, these plates may look like buttons, poker chips, small donuts, or tiny barrels.
