Our Study Areas

Our study took place at three different locations along the Chesapeake Bay (see the map below).  The sites varied in the age of the sediments that we collected and in the number of teeth that were found.   The formations slope slightly to the south placing the oldest formations in the north and the youngest to the south (see the diagram below).
