Snow Melting
Graph Modified from the IPCC 4th Assessment on Climate Change, Page 17

This graph shows observed changes in snow cover yearly from March-April in the Northern Hemisphere. ‘0’ is the average amount of snow cover from 1961-1990. The gray circles indicate yearly values, the black line is the average, and the shaded blue area indicates uncertainty intervals (meaning the value could be anywhere within the blue area, although the black line is the best approximation based on the data). There is a clear downward trend in Northern hemisphere snow cover since 1961.
