One of the largest collections within PRI’s holdings are the collections of Floyd and Helen Hodson. This material was collected while they were employed by various oil companies during the 1920’s and 1930’s. These mollusk collections were made throughout northern South America and the southern Caribbean. Many of the areas from which these samples were collected are no longer accessible. The collections probably exceed 15,000 lots in size; it was moved from Cornell to PRI in the early 1930’s.
