Bring your friends and family to explore the Cayuga Nature Center, located just 5 miles north of Ithaca on Route 89. The grounds are open all winter from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for your enjoyment, and on Second Sundays this winter there is free admission!

The Nature Center is alive this winter with exhibits, live animals and programs. There are more than 30 species of live animals — from hawks and foxes to domino cockroaches and turtles at the Nature Center. You can see Daisy the red fox, Oakley the owl, their new squirrels Buddha and MJ, Ace the red-tailed hawk, Jaws the snapping turtle, Olivia the opossum, Ichabod the turkey vulture and Sir Pokesalot the young porcupine, among many others. Outside enjoy miles of trails, and inside the Nature Center see the “Layers of Life” exhibit on forest ecology and other fascinating and informative displays.
