Coloring Activity for Children: Cecil's Colossal Journey Through Time!

March 18, 2020

Last updated: April 6, 2020

Cecil, the mascot dinosaur of the Museum of the Earth, would like to take you and your family on a colossal journey through time!

Each morning for the next week or two, Cecil will introduce some of the different lifeforms that lived during each major interval of geologic time, along with a couple of pages to color and, some days, an activity to do. These pages can be freely downloaded (PDF format) and then printed.

All of the updates will be added to this page, so make sure to bookmark it. We will also announce on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram (links at bottom of this page) when new pages are available. We would love to see your children’s artwork! Please tag your posts with #museumoftheearth and/or #cecilsjourney.

All of the cartoons and downloadable pages come from “Cecil’s Colossal Journey Through Time! Coloring & Activity Book” by Dr. Richard A. Kissel, which was published by PRI in 2010. The entire coloring book may also be freely downloaded here (43 MB); a printed copy may also be ordered from our online store.

Let’s begin the adventure!
