Public Education Programs

Our strengths guide the variety of educational services we provide. We develop exhibitions, programming, and written material that make relevant science available to the public. Our educators conduct programs for all age groups at our facilities, in regional classrooms, and virtually from field sites around the country. We create teacher professional development programs that help Earth science teachers design curricula that are more engaging and relevant to their students. Our state-of-the-art citizen science projects allow members of the public to participate in scientific research while learning about the process of science first hand. We also conduct science education research and participate in both local and national initiatives to improve education practices and increase scientific literacy.
