Teacher-Friendly Guides to Earth science

The Teacher-Friendly Guides™ to Earth science offer an overview of local and regional Earth science that can help busy teachers connect real-world Earth science to their classroom curricula. There are seven guides that cover the United States, each available in some combination of websites, downloadable pdfs, and/or print copies.

Though written with teachers in mind, the books can be useful for anyone interested in a clear, well-illustrated overview of the Earth science of their region.

Each guide covers geological history, fossils, rocks, topography, mineral resources, glaciers, energy, soils, climate, and Earth hazards. Each books also has information on Earth system science Big Ideas, the Next Generation Science Standards, and creating virtual fieldwork experiences.
