Education

  • Ph.D., Physics, 1992, The Ohio State University

  • A.B., Physics, 1987, Cornell University

Overview

Dr. Zabel strives to make climate change science accessible to the public via exhibits at the Museum of the Earth and the Cayuga Nature Center, online content, teacher resources, and education programs for youth and adults.

Dr. Zabel’s research background includes condensed matter physics, geophysics, remote sensing, and radar systems. She worked on modeling and field studies of sea ice and the Greenland ice sheet while at the Byrd Polar Research Center, and on surveillance radar at MIT Lincoln Laboratory.
